great stay but minor hiccups
The location was perfect, surrounded by stunning mountain views. The hospitality offered by David was exceptional. he even arranged champagne flutes to celebrate our special occasion. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring locally sourced ingredients that made each bite memorable.
The check-in process could have been more flexible to accommodate our arrival.

Staying at High Grassings felt like a hidden gem in Ambleside. The hosts truly made the experience special with their extensive local knowledge. They suggested fantastic walks, especially the Tarn How's walk, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast was delightful—perfectly cooked Full English and homemade blackberry jam that I can’t stop thinking about. The view from the dining room while enjoying breakfast was absolutely breathtaking. Our room was spotless and had some lovely touches like tea and coffee facilities, making it feel homey. On the flip side, the check-in process was a bit rigid. we nearly missed it due to our hiking schedule, which caused some stress. considering the high price, some minor details were overlooked, such as the towels not being as plush as one might expect. But these issues didn’t overshadow our overall enjoyment. I'd come back anytime to soak in the peaceful ambiance and superb hospitality.

Stunning mountain views from the dining room.
The parking situation was ridiculous. it was a tight squeeze and quite stressful to navigate, especially with other vehicles around. I also found the room incredibly disappointing, as it lacked basic amenities like bedside tables. The absence of a dressing table and proper storage for toiletries made my stay feel really uncomfortable.

Had an awesome time with friends! The hosts were super welcoming and gave us great tips on local spots. We checked out the Outgate Inn and Drunken Duck for meals, both were fantastic. Breakfast was a nice start each day, with lovely views while eating. Just a heads up, remember to sort out your payment method beforehand since they don’t take cards.
We had a little trouble with the payment process since we weren't informed about card payment restrictions until we arrived, which wasn't ideal.

Peaceful escape in Ambleside 🌄
Had the best brekkie, proper pancakes with fresh fruit—lekker! The views from our room were stunning, couldn’t get enough. David and Carey were totally awesome, chattin’ with us and sharing great tips for walks and places to eat. Felt like being with friends, really!
Only downside was the check-in process felt a bit rigid, but we managed.

definitely coming here again
The suite had a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer, and a large walk-in shower. Super comfy bed, lots of pillows, and fresh fruits on arrival. I loved the electric kettle for tea, a minibar, and a flat-screen TV. The views were stunning, and the lounge area had nice seating. Plenty of storage, too!
